Pop-Out Card

Here's a classic 3D card. Perfect for Halloween monsters, sharks, frogs and Easter chicks (and all kinds of birds). See the written instructions, the drawn instructions or the Video Tutorial.

Materials
-A5 or A4 card
-Card for the image you choose ..monster, bird, etc
-Stencil for the image (if needed)
-Pencil
-Glue ('pritt stick' is ideal)
-Scissors
-Black marker pen
-Circular stickers/white paper to make circle shapes and stick on (optional)
-White sticker/paper to write message (optional)
-Front cover photocopied design (optional)

Stage 1
-Fold A5/A4 card in half
-Draw the design (from a stencil, if needed) and cut out
-Fold design in half

Stage 2
-Cut a short slit (around 3 centimetres ..but no need to measure) across the fold in the centre of your design
-Open out the corners and fold back (so the folded part is horizontal with the fold line)
-Turn the card over and fold back the corners of the slit in the opposite direction
-Open the card out and push the folded part inwards
-Fold the entire card again with the folded slits inside of the card

Stage 3
-Open out and glue one side of your design..but NOT the central folded part
-Now, fold in half again and push the folded part of your design inside
-Open out your A5/A4 card and place your folded design on one half of the A4 card (with both of the folds in line in the centre of the A5/A4 card)
- Fold the A5/A4 card and press to attach the inside image
-Open out and check ..if the 'mouth/beak' part doesn't pop out, prise it out and fold again

Stage 4
-Decorate the edge of your design, add circular stickers/draw on eyes
-Add a front cover on your card or draw on
-Add a message on the inside of your card
